1997 ASC 12th Technical Conference Recap – Dearborn, MI

The 12th Annual Technical Conference and Meeting of the American Society for Composites was held from October 6–8, 1997, at The Dearborn Inn, a Marriott Hotel in Dearborn, Michigan. The conference was co-chaired by Prof. Ronald F. Gibson and Prof. Golam M. Newaz, and was co-sponsored by Wayne State University, the Automotive Composites Consortium (ACC), and the Michigan Materials and Processing Institute (MMPI).
A total of 123 technical papers were presented, with dominant research themes focused on polymer composites, fatigue behavior, graphite laminates, and adhesive joints. The program emphasized advancements in resin transfer molding (RTM), structural damage analysis, and joint mechanics.
