2009 ASC 24th Technical Conference Recap – Newark, DE

The 24th Annual Technical Conference of the American Society for Composites (ASC) was held from September 15–17, 2009, at the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware. This event marked the 1st Joint US-Canada International Conference on Composites, co-sponsored by the American Society for Composites and the Canadian Association for Composite Structures and Materials. It was co-chaired by Prof. John W. Gillespie (University of Delaware) and Prof. Suong V. Hoa (Concordia University).
The conference also commemorated the 35th anniversary of the Center for Composite Materials at the University of Delaware—one of the premier academic centers for composite innovation and application in North America.
Over 220 technical presentations were delivered.The conference promoted exchange between Canadian and American researchers and helped foster new collaborations across academia and industry.
