The 25th Annual Technical Conference of the American Society for Composites (ASC) was held from September 20–23, 2010, at the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio. This milestone event celebrated the 25th anniversary of ASC’s founding and returned to its original host institution. The conference was held jointly with the 14th U.S.–Japan Conference on Composite Materials and ASTM Committee D30, further emphasizing its international and interdisciplinary scope.

The main technical sessions for ASC and the U.S.–Japan Conference took place September 20–22 at the Dayton Marriott Hotel, with ASTM D30 meetings extending through September 23. The event included keynote talks, panel discussions, technical presentations, and special sessions covering advances in analysis, manufacturing, durability, and applications of composite materials.

Chaired by Prof. Steven L. Donaldson (University of Dayton) and Dr. Gregory A. Schoeppner (Air Force Research Laboratory), with Prof. Nobuo Takeda (University of Tokyo) as U.S.–Japan Conference Chair and Dr. Ronald Krueger (National Institute of Aerospace) as ASTM D30 Chair, the conference featured 134 technical papers and hosted hundreds of attendees from academia, industry, and government research organizations.
